North East Dive - Diving. North East Dive is located on the harbour front in Banff, on the Moray Firth. Dive trips, air fill station, guided dives, equipment servicing and repair. We also have our own Dive Rib's and portable compressor so can be booked for your own trips. 'Nautilus' is our own 7 metre diving rib, We have also recently purchased a Redbay 7.4m offshore rib with diesel inboard. This will open up various divesites. Details to follow. Fully MCA Coded for day and night passage, this powerful rib will comfortably accommodate 8 divers. Fitted with GPS, chart plotter, VHF, sonar, oxygen therapy and first aid equipment, you can be sure this rib will complement your boat dive or wreck diving experience. Available for private dive charters, including trailer and portable HP compressor, this boat can be transported on the trailer by road and launched from convenient harbours / slips, to minimize sailing times to your desired dive site. Owned and operated by North East Dive Ltds' Owner Chris Hollingdale, this rib is the most recent addition to the dive team in Banff. The boat was specifically sourced for diving use only and displays a high level of safety equipment. Chris's professional skill and knowledge of diving, accompanied by professional boating skills and the flexibility of a totally transportable deployment, means your choice of dive sites and frequency have dramatically been increased. Advanced bookings and charters are always available. We run regular Tuesday and Saturday scheduled boat dive trips from Banff and the surrounding area (subject to sea conditions). Location and Departures: Based at Banff Harbour, North East Sea Adventures is ideally located to explore the best the Moray Firth has to offer, and trips may depart from various harbours along the Banffshire Coast (please phone for details). Banff is easy to find, just 1 hour's drive north of Aberdeen along the A947, or 1.5 hours' drive east of Inverness. Local Wildlife: The Moray Firth is a Special Area of Conservation, home to an amazing variety of marine life. The RSPB reserve at Troup Head boasts mainland Scotland's only gannet colony and there are opportunities to see thousands of seabirds including gannets, guillemots, puffins, fulmars and kittiwakes. Encounters with the resident bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and grey and common seals are possible year round. Summer visitors to the Firth include minke whales and the occasional basking shark! Scenery: Fast and manoeuvrable, our rib is able to explore a large range of this, one of Scotland's finest stretches of coastline, with spectacular cliffs, stacks, natural arches, caves, coves and secluded bays. Trips also take in the beautiful traditional fishing villages of Gardenstown, Crovie and Pennan, the working harbour of Macduff, historical Banff and Portsoy harbours and the dramatic ruins of 13th century Findlater Castle.
