HMS Victory is best known for her role in the Battle of Trafalgar, the Victory currently has a dual role as the flagship of the Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command and as a living museum to the Georgian navy. The Historic Dockyard opens at 10am everyday throughout the year, except when closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. From April to October the last tickets to the attractions are sold at 4.30pm and the Dockyard gates are closed at 6.00pm. Royal Navy Submarine Museum - Museum.  A visit to the Submarine Museum includes the incredible experience of actually going onboard a WW2 submarine HMS Alliance with a submariner Guide. The visitor can chat with our submariners and find out what it was like to face danger in battle, to share jokes, hot bunk and how the torpedo section doubled up as a food store and cinema. But the submarine experience does not end there! Visitors can also peer into the only surviving X-craft midget submarine to have seen action during D Day in 1944 and walk onto the Royal Navy's very first submarine Holland 1 which dates from1901 that was crewed by eight men and three mice! Travel through time in our History Galleries, from 1620 when the world?s first submersible, the Drebble submarine was tested to the present nuclear age of submarines. Discover the true tales of heroes as exemplified by the fourteen submariners who were awarded the Victoria Cross, through many of their personal objects and documents and have a go on our real working periscopes to spy on the boats in Portsmouth Harbour. Families can enjoy mastering the challenges of the hands on science games, command their own submarine whilst keeping it buoyant, understand sonar pings and fight the enemy. For families with younger children, the popular Skull & Crossbones exhibition has been extended and allows families to play together, dress up as pirates, climb on board a pirate ship and set sail for buried treasure. Solitaire's home base is Royal Clarence Marina, opposite Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, giving quick access for a whole range of Solent Yacht Charter packages.. Should you wish us to meet you at another port around the Solent or Isle of Wight we are easily able to arrange that. Our standard Solent Yacht Charter packages are: Full day charter 10am- 6pm (including continental breakfast and afternoon tea with champagne). Afternoon charter 1pm- 5pm (including afternoon tea with champagne). Sunset Solent Yacht Charter 7pm- 10pm (including champagne and nibbles). Special event charter (race days, Cowes fireworks, Bournemouth airshow). Dive charter to a wide variety of wreck sites for deep or shallow water dives. Media Charter/ Race Support. More Information regarding our Solent Yacht Charter Packages. Not everyone requires the use of the hot tub or jet ski. We prefer to keep the price of our charters as low as possible so you only pay for what you want. So we have removed the cost of these items from the basic price. Each cost £50 for the day-including fuel and buoyancy aid for jet ski and fresh towels for both. Our Captains have years of experience sailing this vessel and many others. They are qualified by the RYA to Yachtmaster Offshore standard or higher. All crew hold an International certificate of competence and all licenses are commercially endorsed. Both Captain and crew have completed RYA first aid courses, VHF courses and sea survival training. Their job is ultimately to keep everyone safe and the final decision rests with the Captain. Solitaire is fully covered by marine insurance for damage and loss, but also for third person accidents. Bad Weather- We try hard but so far we can't control the weather. We could offer you a refund if we are unable to sail, but where would that leave you for your event? Instead, we will refund you 35% of the price of your charter and allow you to use the boat for the whole time as planned. The weather may even clear up so we could go out in the afternoon. If the weather deteriorates while we are already out and we have to return early, we will refund you pro rata. In any event, you won't find yourselves stuck on the dockside having to make a rapid plan B. Lunch is not included in your Solent Yacht Charter price as some guests prefer to visit a restaurant or pub. However, we can provide a substantial and varied buffet lunch for £10 per person- please give at least 2 weeks notice if there are any food allergies in your party. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own lunch.

These voyages are run in the same way as all our others with the emphasis being on team work but the amount of sailing to leisure time will vary depending on the group.
