Southampton to the Isle of Wight - February 2008

I recently went on the Red Funnel ferry from Southampton to the Isle of Wight. I used the Red Jet Hi-Speed service, which took me from Southampton to Cowes (West Cowes I believe it was). This was the foot passenger only crossing, and I was surprised at how quick it was. It took less than half an hour! There was also an indoor seated area to wait in in Southampton prior to departure - which was good as I arrived early and its cold in February! I found the service prompt, efficient, and comfortable. The staff on board seemed very helpful, polite, and professional. I checked the timetable before showing up on the day (I like to organise for my mini vacations in advance :o) ), and there were plenty of crossings throughout the day, 7 days a week. I was seated inside on the journey, and I found I had good visibility out of the craft towards the Southampton (and Isle of Wight) coast on my crossing. I'll be using them again, next time I need a ferry over to the Isle of Wight. And going on their foot passenger service, i'll also probably be using their car ferry service over to the Isle of Wight at some point too.
