The snap, crackle and pop of Cowes Week.
Cowes Week is surely the greatest regatta in the world, with over 40 classes and 1,000 boats enjoying a week of racing. The boom of the cannons from the Royal Yacht Squadron, the cries of staaaaar-board as the yachts jostle for position at the first mark; the snap, crackle and pop as a sea of spinnakers are unleashed from their bags and soar into the sky above Cowes. From Maxis to Dragons, competent crew to Olympic champions, the great and the good all gather to race (and to party) at this fantastic event. Join Team Fish on 26th July for a week of race training, then Cowes Week itself starts on Saturday 1st August, with racing every day to Friday 7th.

August 2009
"This week went well, excellent private charter on Wednesday with plenty of fishing for the BBQ on a sandy beach on a remote island off Coll. Thursday we had a Minke Whale just off Kilchoan and around 14 sharks journeying to and from the Treshnish Islands. The puffins and most of the guillemots have however left the islands and headed back out to sea so we can still run trips to the treshnish islands if people request it but we are mainly going to be looking for basking sharks as we head down to Staffa.
The new self drive boats have been doing well, mackerel numbers have been very good the last week or so, fantastic sightings of porpoises also being recorded. We have been doing special guided tours in these for people who would prefer not to go alone, if your guests may fulfill this criteria you could advise them to ask about our 'R1' trips.
As usually any questions from any one most welcome."
