Aquacast - Issue 13/2009
Thanks for a good year.
As this is written we have more or less finished our fishing year and what a year it's been. It has been our best yet with no sign of a recession and many thanks to all our customers who have supported Aquavitesse. It's great to see so many of you coming back time after time and thanks also for referring your friends to us.
The coverage we have received in the press and on television has certainly helped, read all about it in the attached articles. Please look at the new feedback section on the website, comments like those certainly makes the skipper feel good.
We have many things left on the boat such as jackets, fleeces etc and over the year the loose change that has been "lost" on the boat has been collected and after Beaufort Charters matched the amount we were able to make a reasonable donation to the R.N.L.I. Many thanks from the Brighton lifeboat.
The 2010 calendar is now on the website, along with our 2010 prices, so if you want the best tides now is the time to book. We look forward to seeing you all next year, and in 2010 will you be able to make it into the famous AQUAVITESSE" best of the month" photos?
Aquacast - Issue 12/2009
The main story during the last 6 weeks has been the excellent Cod fishing that we have found on the wrecks. Some days they have been taking almost any lure we show them, although red and yellow are still the predominant colours as well as the new Tsunami shads. Even at the beginning of July, Pollack were still around and at a good size, and of course Black Bream and Bass are now on the wrecks and also Conger Eels are now starting to feed.
Ice Box
The recent glut of cod has prompted a lot of discussion in one of the fishing forums about Charter boats and Ice boxes, do skippers like them or not? On Aquavitesse we believe that the catch should be kept as fresh as possible and yes, we have an Ice box that we use whenever the temperature warrants it. Cool or what!
Masterline Walker
The new Rovex rods and reels have now been through many hands on Aquavitesse and are proving themselves up to the job, the rods are very responsive and the reels are reliable. Masterline also sent us some of their new Tsunami lures and they are certainly working. Both Pollack and Cod have succumbed to their charms and they are looking like the shad to have!
2010
Weekends are now booked up to November 2009, so if you are thinking about a Saturday in 2010 now is the time to book.
Billingsgate Market
Not many people know that Billingsgate Fish Market also have a Seafood Training School that is open to the public, and we have concluded an arrangement that means the Training School are now selling vouchers that combine a days fishing on Aquavitesse along with a day in their fish preparation rooms or kitchens. With increasing demand from the public to learn how to prepare and cook seafood in the home the school now offers a wide selection of evening, half and full day courses aimed at individual members of the public. These courses are characterised by their practical nature and offer real skills that can be translated back into the home environment. The most popular of these courses include "Catch of the Day" full and half days, "Mastering the Art" Saturdays and " How to Prepare different types of Fish". Full details concerning the courses and vouchers can be found on: www.seafoodtraining.org.
Feedback - www.aquavitesse.co.uk/seafishing-comments.php
We have now added a Feedback section on our website and would welcome comments. Compliments are always welcome but we are also very interested in constructive comments that show how we could improve our offering to customers.
Girls Girls Girls
We are always pleased to see Ladies on Aquavitesse not only because they listen to what the skipper says but also they generally are proved to be very good anglers.
