The New Year brings change for many and this year that includes Poole Sailing! Mike Riley who has been running the business since its inception in 2004 has finally decided to retire properly and hand over the reins to current Chief Instructor, Rob Gibson. All other details remain the same and Rob and his team of first class instructors will continue to provide the same range of Courses and Sailing Events as before. We are taking this opportunity to update our website. Hopefully you will approve of the changes in style and layout while appreciating that apart from a shuffling of the pages and words, the content remains the same. Poole Sailing remains dedicated to providing you with top quality tuition and Sailing Events in a relaxed and friendly manner!
To show our appreciation to our existing students, and to get the new season off to a flying start we are offering a 15% discount on the following early season courses to those of you on our current client list. Plus friends and family if you want to bring them along.

Peter will be talking about the role of the RORC in organising both racing and, yacht safety. This latter benefited much from the experiences of the 79 Fastnet. Peter will also give us some "go faster" tips which he has learnt over his many years of unsurpassed racing experience. He asks "Are all racing men mad?". His answer of course is definitely not, but sometimes, it just seems that way! Wednesday February 8th, John Hazell, The Last Blue Water Rally
Just over two years ago, John and his friend bought a boat Fai Tira with the intention of sailing round the world. They took part in what ended up as "the last Blue Rally" specifically designed for cruising sailors. His cruise was prematurely ended by Pirate activity in the Indian Ocean. He will talk about his near circumnavigation, his various crew, the many problems overcome and the final difficulties due to the pirates. His blog describes a huge number of interesting and fascinating places which he visited, and the people he met, all amply illustrated with wonderful photographs. This should be a memorable evening and a perfect antidote to a chilly winter evening. 19:45 for 20:15 at the GX Memorial Centre. Visitors welcome.
Wednesday February 1st, Anna Hickman, Recent Marine Science Discoveries
