A registered Charity, Adventures Offshore has close associations with the scouting movement and has been taking groups of young people sailing since 1964. Their Oyster 49 ketches sail every weekend from April to October and compete in the annual Tall Ships Races. Evening and day sails, as well as longer trips can be arranged and RYA Start Yachting and Competent Crew certificates are offered as an option on suitable cruises.

The Stour Sailing Club caters for racing, cruising and fishing. We have a full social programme and the clubhouse is open most lunchtimes and evenings. In the Club compound, on the hard and moorings can be seen the wide mix of craft which reflect members' interests: racing, estuary pottering, coastal and offshore cruising, and fishing.
Dinghies and cruisers race in classes. In recent years the club has amassed a fleet of 18' Micro Cupper racing cruisers, which is possibly the largest single   

Stubbers Adventure Centre

Based in Upminster just off Junction 29 of the M25, Stubbers has two lakes, one for natural power and one for motor powered craft. The centre runs RYA, BCU courses including PWC and is also available for groups and individuals for general instruction whether by session or for the day. Set in 130 acres of beautiful countryside Stubbers also offers wakeboarding sessions by appointment.  

The Blackwater Sailing Club

The Blackwater Sailing Club is situated on the River Blackwater at Heybridge Basin and has first class facilities for both dinghy and cruiser sailors. There is racing most weekends in both catagories. As a Volvo champion club it also has a great coaching setup for 8-18 year olds initially on our training lake and then progressing out onto the river. Trial sails for anyone who thinks they would like to try sailing are also available.

Sailing opportunities are available for individuals/groups with a sense of adventure or those with an interest in traditional sailing vessels. Although these are generally day sails we do occasionally arrange longer charters across to Holland or France.
Our smaller vessels are ideal for families and friends wishing to undertake an adventurous holiday but with the added benefits of a profess
